About the discussion

The Transition into Retirement group meets for 4 consecutive weeks with the same group of peers and facilitator to discusses a range of topics to help you transition into this new chapter.  We will close availabilities as spots fill up real-time. While we recommend attending all four sessions for the best experience, we understand that schedules can be unpredictable, and you may need to miss a session.

Session 1: Let's Get to Know Each Other! 🌞

Get to know each other by discussing retirement, previous careers, and future aspirations, while exploring the surprises of retirement and sharing lessons learned thus far.

Session 2: Psychology of Retirement 💬

Explore the psychology of retirement by introducing its four stages—vacation, loss, trial and error, reinvention, and discuss the psychological impacts and strategies used to navigate these transitions.

Session 3: Finding Your Ikigai 💙

Explore the concept of ikigai, a Japanese philosophy about finding purpose, and learn how to identify your own by reflecting on passions, skills, needs, and potential rewards to enrich retirement.

Session 4: Volunteering & Part-time Work 💼

Discuss past experiences and future aspirations in volunteering or part-time work, exploring how these choices reflect personal values and desires for fulfillment.
