About the discussion

Many of you have expressed interest in finding flexible or part-time work opportunities after retirement. We're revisiting this topic, this time in a panel discussion format, and inviting 3 individuals who have retired to share their experiences.

Join us in a panel discussion to explore questions such as:

  • What were you hoping to gain from a job after retirement? And what did you gain?
  • How did you go about exploring different opportunities?
  • How did you position yourself, your availability, type of work, etc.?
  • [message us with any other sub-topics!]

The panel will feature 3 individuals who have retired and discovered new roles, some in a similar field, others in a completely different role from their full-time career. They'll begin by sharing their experiences, followed by an interactive discussion.

MEET THE PANELISTS:

Kathy B., retired after 16-years as director of services for older adults in a social impact organization. Currently works part-time as Research Associate with Center for Social and Demographic Research on Aging at UMass Boston.

Patty C., previously worked as a paralegal for 15 years. Currently a part-time Senior Family Support Specialist with Everyday Labs, working with school districts to improve student attendance based on behavioral science.
