About the discussion
Join us for "What Does It Entails Being a Guardian Ad Litem," a Q&A session with Candace Lobdell, a retired teacher and principal who has embraced her new role as a Guardian Ad Litem, an official liaison who observes and advocates on behalf of children.
Candace will share her experiences as a Guardian Ad Litem (GAL), what it takes to become one, the training process, potential compensation, and how this opportunity has shaped her life and perspective. This session is ideal for those interested in learning about the legal system, passionate about shaping a child's future, or looking to re-enter the workforce in retirement. If you care about kids, you can do it too!
From our Member Speaker, Candace Lobdell:
After dedicating over three decades to the field of education as a teacher and principal, I discovered a new career in retirement as a Guardian ad Litem. This role has allowed me to meld my experiences in my first career and my desire to learn more about the legal system while keeping my mind active and engaged. Surprisingly, I hadn't known about this position until after I retired! I feel fortunate to have come across this opportunity at the perfect time and am eager to share my journey with you all!
